The Mangrove Action Project is excited to announce that the 2025 Mangrove Photography Awards submission deadline has been extended until Sunday, 1 June due to popular demand!
This competition isn’t just about celebrating visual storytelling—it’s about using powerful images to inspire action and drive conservation efforts.
Want to be part of it? Here’s what you need to know:
- Entry is FREE and open to photographers worldwide, of any age or level.
- You can submit up to 12 images across 6 categories: Wildlife, People, Landscapes, Threats, Underwater, and Conservation Stories.
- Photos that were previously entered but did not win can be resubmitted.
- Entrants 23 years or younger will automatically be entered into the Young Mangrove Photographer of the Year award.
- Photographers based in the UAE or Gulf region will automatically be entered into one of the two new awards in partnership with Environment Agency Abu Dhabi, The Emirates Award and the Arabian Gulf Award.
Winners will be revealed on July 26 — World Mangrove Day — before the People’s Choice Award, voted for on social media, takes place in August.
