Ocean Decade Forum event banner

On 11 June 2025, in the framework of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, the Ocean Decade Forum will mark a pivotal midpoint in the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 ('Ocean Decade'). It will offer a moment to reflect on progress since the Barcelona Statement (2024), celebrate impact and align on priorities ahead.

The Forum will spotlight co-designed science as a driver of actionable solutions, with a focus on turning knowledge into policy and scaling global efforts to local impact. It will emphasize the critical role of data, technology and industry collaboration, while also advancing new tools and strategies for financing ocean science. The day will close with a high-level call to action, rallying renewed commitments to accelerate progress over the next five years.
