Wetlands in drylands: diverse perspectives for dynamic landscapes
S. Grenfell et al. Wetlands Ecology and Management, 2022.
The Special Issue aimed to: (1) consolidate, extend and challenge current global scientific understanding of the hydrogeomorphology, biogeomorphology, biogeochemistry, ecology, and social-ecology of WiDs; (2) illustrate the linkages between biophysical, social, and cultural processes and practices, and their implications for ecosystem service provision; and (3) promote the system-scale management and restoration of wetlands in drylands ecosystems and their linked social-ecological/cultural systems, in order to maximise the services they provide to dryland societies. In this editorial, we provide an overview and some additional context for the articles included in the Special Issue.
