Over the last 25 years, nearly 44 million native trees have been planted and the restoration of nearly 24,000 hectares has begun across Brazil’s Atlantic Forest. From 2008 to 2025, the Tree Nursery produced 7.5 million saplings to support restoration efforts.

Restoring the Atlantic Forest is critical to protecting one of the world’s most biodiverse biomes. Only 24% of the original forest remains in fragmented areas, with just 12.4% consisting of mature, well-preserved forests. Deforestation affects water supply and climate regulation for the majority of Brazil’s population.

The Forests of the Future programme connects environmental agencies, companies and landowners, mobilizing funds and identifying rural properties in need of restoration, particularly legally protected areas. Restoration supports the conservation of water resources, landscapes, biodiversity and soil.
