New York City, September 22, 2025 — As the world’s leaders convene for Climate Week and the UN General Assembly in New York, bold new public works of art are bringing fresh energy and perspectives to the climate conversation. Expanding on the success of five Climate Action murals unveiled last year and viewed by over 100 million people, the New-York based non-profit Street Art for Mankind (SAM) is revealing three spectacular new pieces along New York City’s iconic High Line and Hudson Yards.

The High Line, a unique public green space in New York City, built on an historic, elevated rail line, along with nearby Hudson Yards, known for its striking architecture, will now host inspiring artwork along the route, focusing on three key areas for environmental action: the right to clean air, the value of water for humanity, and the groundbreaking solutions that young entrepreneurs are creating to protect and restore the environment.

Curated by SAM in partnership with the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration — co-led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) — and the Climate Group, the expanded Climate Action Outdoor Museum transforms the city into a vibrant “green” art walk, stretching from Hudson Yards to the High Line. This evolving exhibit uses the universal language of art to inspire action and foster unity during one of the most critical moments for our planet.

The new murals include:

Onur’s 70ft H x 100ft W masterpiece at W 21st St. celebrating young changemakers who are reinventing humanity’s connection to the planet—one bright idea at a time. Inspired by UNEP’s flagship youth initiative, Young Champions of the Earth, it honors youth creativity, courage, and leadership for a just and sustainable future.

“These new murals are an invitation —to pause, to reflect, and to remember that we are all connected by the air we breathe, the water we share, and the future we shape together,” said Audrey and Thibault Decker, Cofounders of Street Art for Mankind. “Located in the heart of New York City, where millions pass each day, we hope that our Climate Action Outdoor Museum — and its new additions — can create an inspiring space for creativity, conversations and collective action amid challenging global climate negotiations.”

“The Climate Action Outdoor Museum joins other institutions dedicated to artwork across the world that raise awareness and inspires action through beauty and creativity, imagining a more sustainable future,” said Daniel Cooney, Director of UNEP’s Communication Division. “Launching in New York as nations gather here to address the world’s most pressing issues – including climate – the Museum will draw attention to the need to work together for people and planet.”

“These public artworks honour our right to clean air and water, spotlight youth-led solutions, and underscore the urgent need to protect our environment,” said Lotte Pang, Deputy Director of FAO’s Office of Communications. “They are a vivid reminder that restoring ecosystems and safeguarding natural resources is a shared responsibility, essential for the future and well-being of every community.”
