Ghanshyam Pandey is the chairperson and co-founder of Green Foundation Nepal. For the last 35 years, he has been advancing community forestry and restoration in Nepal. He served as the chairperson of the Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal (FECOFUN), and currently supports the group as senior adviser. FECOFUN is Nepal’s largest civil society organization focusing on community forest restoration. It acts as an umbrella organization for more than 22,000 community forestry user groups (CFUGs) in Nepal, which are contributing towards Nepal’s national conservation, restoration, and development goals. He also represented Nepal in steering committees and boards of different international organizations, including Rights and Resource Initiatives, The Forest Dialogue, Global Alliance of Community Forestry, Forest and Farm Facility, among others. Mr. Pandey holds a master's degree in Rural Development, with expertise in community coordination, media mobilization, and conflict management.
