Four new UN World Restoration Flagships will be announced at this event celebrating significant worldwide efforts to revive our forests, farmlands and other degraded ecosystems. By awarding World Restoration Flagships, the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), recognizes the most ambitious, promising and inspiring restoration initiatives across the globe.

Out of more than 200 hundred applicants, ten new World Restoration Flagships have been selected to be announced at key UN events throughout 2025. After the first three of these new World Restoration Flagships were announced at the 2025 UN Ocean Conference in June, four more will be unveiled during FAO’s 80th Anniversary and World Food Week.
