The G20 Global Land Initiative at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) will organize an International Symposium on the Emerging Restoration Industry, a gathering to elevate restoration as a vibrant and emerging economic sector. Taking place on 30 November – 1 December 2025 in Panama City alongside the 23rd session of the Committee on the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 23), the symposium will bring together the diverse ecosystem of private sector actors driving land restoration on the ground. This event will connect these implementers, highlight business models, share operational insights, and begin laying the foundation for an identity, standard, and coordination mechanism for the global restoration economy.
