RESULT Asia Pacific (Restoring and Sustaining Landscapes Together in Asia-Pacific) is a regional initiative launched by ministers to support 22 countries in restoring and sustainably managing 100 million hectares of degraded landscapes, in collaboration with more than 40 partners.

To support evidence-based planning and investment at scale, the initiative is conducting a survey to collect data on the costs and benefits of forest and landscape restoration projects implemented or ongoing within the past 10 years. This survey of project managers and leaders is designed to help close this critical evidence gap of robust cost and benefit data on restoration in the Asia-Pacific region. The collected data will inform an aggregated assessment of restoration economics, including the total costs and benefits of restoring 100 million hectares, helping to strengthen business cases for restoration and a sustainable bioeconomy.

Practitioners and project managers are invited to contribute cost and/or benefit estimates from restoration projects they are familiar with. Informed estimates and professional judgement are welcome, and partial data submissions are acceptable. The survey takes approximately 30 minutes per project and can be completed multiple times for different projects or sites.

The results will feed into a dashboard of restoration costs and benefits, designed to support project formulation and implementation across diverse ecosystems and territories. All data will be used only in aggregated form. Contributors will be acknowledged in resulting publications and will receive access to the findings. The survey is open until 06 February 2026.
