Register now for the first session of the RESULT Asia-Pacific talk series.

Global restoration commitments span around one billion hectares, but investments remain inadequate for restoring at scale. In the Asia-pacific, land and forest degradation is severe and is projected to worsen. “Restoring and Sustaining Landscapes Together (RESULT) Asia-Pacific” initiative, with 40 partners, aims to assist countries restore and sustainably manage over 100 million hectares of the region’s degraded forest, agricultural, urban and other lands, which 20 countries have committed under national and global initiatives.

This builds on the Regional Strategy and Action Plan for Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR) in Asia-Pacific and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Partnering with the private sector is indispensable for a transformative change through restoration. This is reflected in the outputs 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 of the RESULT Asia-Pacific initiative; these focus on identifying private sector’s role, best practices, and constraints, and improving the enabling environment for FLR investments.

This first session of the RESULT Asia-Pacific talk series will contribute to these. It will focus on the role of private sector partnerships and investment in advancing FLR. It will highlight practical experiences, financing mechanisms, and sustainable practices, while addressing key challenges and the need for an enabling environment to connect projects with investment opportunities.
