This report explores how human wellbeing can be embedded into ecosystem restoration planning and monitoring from the outset. Developed through the Endangered Landscapes & Seascapes Programme Restoration Dialogues, and in partnership with Trillion Trees, BirdLife International, Cambridge Conservation Initiative and the Climate and Land Use Alliance, the report presents practical recommendations for integrating wellbeing metrics into restoration practice. It highlights how restoration affects livelihoods, governance, culture, and community relationships, and outlines approaches for monitoring both ecological and social outcomes over the long term.
