At the midpoint of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021–2030) and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework's 2030 targets, Restoration Day will bring together government leaders, United Nations representatives, Indigenous Peoples, local communities, youth, scientists, investors and restoration practitioners to mark this milestone and chart the road ahead.

Building on two hugely popular editions at CBD COP15 (Montreal) and COP16 (Cali), this year's Restoration Day will launch the first-ever Restoration Progress Report, a landmark assessment of where the world stands on restoring 30% of degraded ecosystems and delivering on the 1 billion hectare commitment.

The day brings together a range of engagements, including:

• A high-level launch of the Restoration Progress Report, with reactions from Parties and partners.
• An interactive dialogue where participants help shape the next five years of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
• Panel discussions on restoration science, cross-convention synergies, monitoring, and finance for scale.
• Community-led sessions spotlighting restoration led by Indigenous Peoples, local communities and youth.
• A closing celebration: the Gala of Hope - Nature Edition, awarding new UN World Restoration Flagships, followed by a networking reception.
