Arief Rabik is the Chairman and Founder of Bamboo Village Trust. The initiative aims to create economic viability for the use of bamboo agroforestry to sequester CO2 and restore degraded tropical forest lands in dozens of countries. Currently, the initiative is starting in Indonesia with 1,000 bamboo villages restoring, restoring 2 million hectares of degraded land with bamboo agroforestry. In the future, it aims to grow to 10,000 bamboo villages and restore 20 million hectares across the tropical belt of the world. Arief is an expert in bamboo cultivation, value added processing, and brokering public and private support and investment in village-level bamboo production.
